As promised, here are the Dia de los Muertos candy skull inspired earrings!
The skulls are colorfully dyed Magnesite (also known as Howlite), with varying components for eyes, such as Swarovski rhinestones, African Christmas beads, and vintage Japanese glass pearls. Pearls, Czech glass beads, vintage plastic flowers, Quartz, Freshwater Pearls, handmade clay flowers, vintage metal flowers, and various antiqued silver plated Brass charms make up the candy colored medley.
I know that I had mentioned making these nearly a month ago but with the move to the suburbs and all of the unpacking (which is still only halfway done), I was forced to take a break from my jewelry making and posting. I finally managed to put the last two of this collection up in my shop! Now that things are starting to settle down again though, I will be posting new things and posts more frequently.
What do you think-- do they look like they fit in with my inspiration: Dia de los Muertos folk art?
